Adding ac to non ac car

I am installing a s13 blacktop engine in my 91 240sx. The problem is that the car did not come with ac. I would like to install the ac from my new engine into my car. Anyone done this before and if so how difficult was it and also how much did it cost in extra parts and labour.

if your planning on using factory parts, get ready to drop some serious cash. off the top of my head i can tell you, your going to need the evaporator case with evaporator, expansion valve assembly and drain hose, the a/c button, the condensor, receiver dryer with switch, all the high and low pressure hoses and lines, relays for the fan and compressor. and if you are using the compressor on the sr motor, the lines for the compressor on the ka most likely will be different and may need to be modified to work. that's just some of the things that i can recall, i'm sure there are some parts that i forgot to mention due to the fact that it's been a while since i've installed an a/c kit in a s13. bottom line, be ready to spend some money and a whole lot of time rounding up the parts or buy an a/c kit from a nissan dealer which is pretty expensive but comes with instructions.

Yeesh - had the same post I made like a year ago, got flamed out on another board. Apparently the whole process is not worth it, this is why I've become accustomed to driving with the windows down and gotten used to the blaring heat. I'd like to get an absolute price on it as well, but afraid that it just might not be worth it.
