First off, I dont want to do the FM modulator thing with NAVTV like many others have done which distorts the image and sound quality through the TAPE output. I still want the player to be able to play through my nav screen so wanted to know what the best way to add this thing. The tape player is in my glove compartment so I'm wondering if I should add it there and remove the tape deck or maybe add it in the center console. Any ideas?

I did it using the tape deck. Yes, there's some extra hissing, but I've never minded that.

So what dvd player did you get? Did you need an expansion module to hook the dvd player to the stock system. Hows your visual clarity/quality?Thanks for the input Jesda

I have an Audiobahn DVD-MP3 player, but I havent hooked a screen up to it. I can listen to movies though.

Sound quality is quite good, with lots of clarity. I have a tape adapter connected to the back of the DVD drive, then going into the tape slot of my Alpine head unit. The tape adapter wire is hidden behind the dash.

Huge difference between the Philips and XM tape adapters. The one from XM kills a lot of treble, while the Philips allows a lot of hissing, which I dont mind. Havent tried any from Sony or Belkin.
