I bought these lights for my wife's Jeep but she decided she wanted round lights rather than the cateye shape of these. Since they were $10 from Harbor Freight on sale, it was cheaper to put them on my Infiniti rather than drive back to the store.
I liked how they tucked right in to the opening on either side of the plate. I mounted mine forward so the beam pattern wouldn't be obscured by the bumper boobies. The picture is a little misleading. In person looking down at the bumper, the only thing sticking out beyond the bumper is the curve of the glass. It's actually pretty slick. If they were driving lights, you could tuck them way back.
After taking these pictures, I realized that the left one is crooked. The mount on a sliding bracket, so it will take 2 minutes to fix it.
Here they are along with my fog lights. I did the fog light mod a while back.
With my new Silverstar bulbs.
Even though they are low power, I still can't bring myself to install lights without a relay. I removed the plate covering the opening where the clutch would have passed through if it were a stick, and drilled a small hole with a grommet.
Finally, the switch was installed in one of the blanks in front of the cubby. Please disregard how dirty everything is. I haven't detailed it all winter.
By the way, if anyone is looking for some large, bright lights for cheap, I bought these for the Jeep. I cut out the black grill with wire cutters. They are a very focused beam and super bright. They easily eclipse my high beams. They're pretty big so they might look awkard on a stock QX4, but would look good on anything with a brush guard, etc.Modified by bmlawless at 9:01 AM 5/1/2009
