I must have the MOST SENSITIVE EARS in the world, i hear every little sound and even a pindrop...that being said, the system sounds good, although there are certain bass notes that sound odd, kind of like a rattle? All in all i am pleased with the sound, but as my ears hear everything, i would love PERFECT sound on all bass tones. What would you all recommend?

Well i already owned the 2 MTX Zeus 10" subs and enclosure. THESE PUPPIES PUMP!!! I purchased them about 8 years ago at an Audio show @ Madison Square Garden. Can someone give me any information on these subs, as my research seems to find nothing on these bad boys. These are the only subs i've ever owned and would like to know if an upgrade is necessary.

I Purchased the Kenwood 1000w mono amp @ bestbuy ($200), and a 3.0 Farad capacitor ($100 can't remember brand) in Chinatown!(if you visit NYC, go to Chinatown for some serious discounts!!!)

As for the Dynamat, I purchased the Door kit and have basically used most of it up on the trunk ( my doors don't seem to rattle). I haven't completed the install on the Dynamat...80% done.

THANK YOU in advance for any help!!!

dont know too much about your subs but there has been many improvements in car audio over hte past 8 years. also you might get a better sound out of a sealed or ported box over a bandpass.

You don't mind the dynamat sticking out from under the carpeting?

That box is immense.

Bye bye trunk space!

What are the differences in those other boxes?

I don't think I'll be putting the carpet back on.

Yes it is a huge box, I'd like to go smaller, but not lose bass.

I'm not too sure about those subs either. Any chance you've got a better pic of what one of the subs looks like? If you check the FAQ in my signature there's a section on subwoofer enclosure selection which should explain the difference between sealed, ported and bandpass (like you have). Bandpass probably will get the loudest, but have the poorest quality. I would definitely first look at changing the enclosure, as this would be the cheapest and have the greatest effect on improving sound quality. Achieving perfect bass is not an easy thing to do in a car. It's something I've been working on for a while. I started at about $500 on a sub setup and then moved up to about $1000 and now I'm at, well, more than that. I think I've finally hit my target (but doing so is not cheap).

Also, which Kenwood amp are you running?

Just an FYI, both Robert and Vballer said the most significant gains from dynamat/b-quiet were in doing the side panels alongside the back seat. So you might want to consider doing them as well.
