Hey guys, so I just installed my Injen intake this weekend and must say I am very impressed with it. Sounds awesome and also can feel the increase in performance at night and sometimes during the day. However I am wondering if I should get a more free flowing exhaust. Stillen and Nismo were the brands I was considering since I don't want to go too much louder than stock. With more air coming in with the ram air I was wondering if there should be a more free flowing exhaust... Also was wondering if there is a company that makes headers for our cars? So my questions are:

1) Does anyone make headers for the 3.5 MT?2) If yes then who and where can I find some?3) What is the best bang for the buck for a more free flowing exhaust?4) Is it better to go axle-back or cat-back and what's the difference?

Any help would be awesome!

No headers as of yet (from what i remember)

Best bang for the buck high flow exhaust would be to just go to a local shop and have them straight pipe it! But it would be loud...

Catback has a long pipe that connects to your catalytic converter which is just after your headers... meaning the "new" exhaust starts just behind the engine.

I am partial to my Nismo catback, but i have a 2.5, the 3.5ers will be better suited to answer you.

1. None that is officially out. I believe the headers that SFR has are meant for the older generation Altimas. I wouldn't waste your money on headers for v6 owners. I have mentioned this in the past because of the short headers and the well design the OEM ones already have. Plus its not cost effective when your only getting little to no gains. Unless you get a good tune.

2. Skipped

3. High flow cats/test pipes and a y-pipe

4. Catback

5. Once you get all those exhaust components. I highly recommend a tune from Technosquare or Uprev. Best bang for you buck when it comes to power gains.

I'm obviously partial to the nismo, but it sounds so sweet. Nice deep growl under 2.5k and the nice 350/g35 purr that everyone seems to want from 2.7k-4k. The other exhaust that I really like is the artisan, haven't heard it in person but the vids sound sweet!

I am aware of that thread, but it is all talk so far. I have yet to see a real production version of these headers. Hence I said none officially out. Until I actually see a production version of these headers, I take my word back.

I am sure you can get a custom header from Fast Intentions if your willing to pay without low balling them. They also specialize in Nissan Z/G's exhaust. Which eventually I will be getting HFC, y-pipe, and a cat-back from them.

HFC? get them to become sponsors on nico and do GBs!
