Hey everyone. Im Anthony. Im new to the forum. I just got my 2008 nissan sentra 2.0S. I love it and so far Ive changed to radio to a kenwood double din dvd head unit, added sirius, bluetooth, and headrest monitors. At the time I bought my car my nissan sales man covienently forgot to tell me about the options I could have on my car including the intelligent key. So now I just have my regular immobilizer chip key. The trunk is soo annoying to open because its only manual meaning u have to physically insert the key and turn to open. Thats a joy to do when your carrying something. I dont understand, my 97 ford taurus had an electrical tunk release but an 08 sentra doesnt? I noticed you can purchase the steering coloum that has the keyless cylinder and you can purchase the door handles that have the request switches on them from everthingnissan.com . I know that this isnt all the system consists of and I would like to know if anyone knows what other parts I would need with the part numbers. I think that there is some sort of moudle for the I. key and the buzzer that beeps when you press the request switch. I guess when I have everything I'll have to take the car into the dealership to have it installed and programmed. Its not my fault, the person selling me the car should tell me what I can have on my car. I called nissan and I was told that the cars come from the factory with the I.keys installed. I can see in my instrument cluster the lights for the intelligent key and there is a connector near the trunk lid which isnt used and there are wires near the driver door handle and passenger door handle which arent used. (I opened the panel up) It seems like It can be installed but they just dont want to do it. If anyone has any input on this please let me know. Thanks a lot. Anthony

I find it odd that a salesman wouldn't try to rook people into buying more options.

That said, it sounds like your wiring harness includes all the connections necessary.

What is their stated reason for not doing it? I'd try another dealer first, and if that doesn't work, I bet you could do this yourself.

I know I was thinking the exact same thing. They should have wanted me to add like every option available but he never said anything. I knew about the intelligent key because I had seen every single altima on the lot with the pusgh button ignition but I never knew that the sentra coud have it too and for only $850 (included trunk divider, leather steering wheel and bluetooth). Im so aggrevated over it bacause I think the only way I can have that trunk release is with the intelligent key. I was thinking about one thing though if I have to do the installation my self Wouldnt I have to remove the ignition key cylinder and therefore killing my car because of the immobilizer chip thingy? I think ill probably have to install everything across the street from a nissan dealership so then they can program it . Do you by any chance have an intelligent key system? If you do could you please tell me the part no. of the module that controlls it or connects it to the car? Thanks

Although it's pictured in the brochure, I don't believe the 2.0S badging was included on the 2008 models. Mine dibn't have it either. The only model badging I saw on 2008 Sentras was an SL.

Quite the opposite. 90% of the people who buy a new car have a monthly payment in mind when they walk onto the lot. The more features one opts for, the more a dealer is going to have to mark down the price to get you to the payment you need to be at. They're not necessarily trying to rip you off, it's just the way the game is played. Any retard can "sell" someone on a $40,000 Maxima or $50,000 Armada, but getting them to cough up the money is where problems start coming up. I can't even begin to count how many jackoffs come into a dealership wanting a fully loaded whatever for $0-500 down at $300 a month. That **** might get you a base model Versa IF you have ridiculously good credit and a good sized factory rebate.

Ugh... sometimes I reeeaaally don't miss that job... I need a drink.

And good luck with the key swap.

Lol it sounds like you worked at a dealership. Im 17 and my dad did want a payment that was less than $500 a month. But I could have come up with that $850 for those options if I had known about it. I hope im right about those wires, if there not for the i. key I dont know what im going to do. I have a question about the vehicle harness. Is it just one big mass of wire that runs all over the car from the engine or is it seperate cables? Im guessing that if that has to be changed then the whole car has to be taken apart Or maybe I can run new wires to where ever they have to connect to? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you....

Hey. Do you have an 07/08 nissan sentra? If you do would you happen to know where the "box" for the remote keyless entry would be? I know its supposed to have one but I've looked everywhere and I can' t find it. I want to look at it to see if there are any markings or anything that would point to it being able to use the keyless ignition switch. Thank you

Anthony
