ok i have a 1996 s13 black top sr20det i raise the boost to to right under 9 pounds it produces good power. But i just add just a little over 9 pounds, then its slower then 7 pounds.

well its basically stock the exhuast just goes down to the bottom of the car (no cat no mufflers). now i have a friend that had a gtir sr20 (fwd) 14lbs stock no problem in a 2004 centra. well could it be my fuel pump even though i was told it could haddle 12 to 14lbs on stock fuel pump. before putting on boost controller i replaced with NGK 6 temp plugs, 300zx fuel filter, new oil filter and oil. i dont know imput would be great.

Also theres no detenation but knock i dont know but if it was knock does the car retard in stages or just that tiny bit more boost sets it off. tell me what you've experienced or heard.

thanks:help

it seems like if your loosing power over 9 lbs of boost, that your fuel system cannot keep up with the amount of air your turbo is pushing in. I would check to make sure your fuel pump is in fact a walboro 255 lph, and It is running in good condition. Also check to see if your fuel pressure regulator is working correctly by using a fuel pressure test kit, or you can slightly bend the fuel return hose while reving it, holding your ear up to the hose to hear and also feel with your fingers how much fuel is being passed by the FPR (regulator) while your rev your motor. When your at idle, more fuel should be passing through the regulator, but when you increase rpm's you will have less passing by thus forcing more fuel to feed out your injectors. Try that and if not post up what ever you find out.

BTW since yuo have the stock fuel pump in there now, I WOULD STRONGLY suggest that you turn down your boost, to the stock 7psi, becuase you are running a risk of hurting your motor above that!

So yea... silly white boy get a fuel pump, they are only $100anyways

I would think it is retarding heavily along withthe fuel issue. When it hears the knock, it will retard the timing, sometimes alot. Just be careful or you will be ruining your investment.
