wow that is interesting, is someone going to call?

BTW I think it is the 4th pic, just turn it 90* to the counter clocwise and thats its proper orientation.

If you click on the "Photos" tab at the top of the page, then go to the bottom, there is a pic of a 350Z drifting, and it says "Titan V8 mated to a 5 Speed". Chances are that adaptor is for the Titan VK56, but it's still very cool.

yeah that looks like a VK pattern from what I remember. I saw a side by side picture of the engine at one point but I would have to examine it again to compare.

Well if this is true then I think that one can use the new 6-speed trannys on the VK, no adapter required. I'm not talking about just any 350Z transmission, but the new pattern that seems to be shared on the VQ40DE, VK45DE, VQ35HR, etc... since those are brand new, they are probably still pricy. If only there was a proper direct bolt-on transmission for the VH

Good call on the VK thing, I was thinking the pattern might be turned sideways in the pic, but the starter didnt look right for a VH. I guess these are the guys who did the adapter for the VK56 in ChrisForsbergs 350Z.

The VK motors do have the starter in the valley....

Now about the new VQ motors sharing this same pattern, I dont think tht is true. Number one problem is the VQ motor is a 60degree V6 so there is no room in the valley for a starter motor.... And why change the pattern on the VQ motors?? I know the VQ30 and VQ35 transmissions definitely do not fit that VK pattern.

Careful here... there is a difference bertween the VQ40DE/VQ35HR pattern and the "classic" VQ pattern (VQ30DE, VQ30DET, VQ35DE). Reread my previous post again if this is confusing.

BTW there is some good info on the new VQ here http://www.nissanperformancema...35hr/

Hrmmm, I found a pic of the VQ40 in the truck and it looks to have the n ormal VQ pattern, but I found information on forums saying that the new HR motors definitely do have the VK pattern..... Maybe the 2005 VQ40 in the trucks were just stroked VQ35???? and the 2007 trucks maybe have the new blocks??

Here:

Thats taken from a Frontier technical page.

I just wanted to clarify some info in this post as well as ad some personal experience. The VK has a unique pattern as does the VH. The VQ is the same forever until you get to the VQxxHR which has the same pattern as the new VQ40 (they both have bigger cranks and bellhousings)

On the personal experience, I tried to get Wilcap to build one of those adapters for me. I'm thinking, it is listed on their website, probably in their CAD system, should be quick, right? Way wrong. After 1 year and 4 months of excuses and total bull s***, I had someone else do the adapter for me.
