Both of the ones I've seen brag about s*** other automakers have been doing for years (or even decades), then follow it up with "Acura--Innovation where you least expect it."

Yeah, because you're the first brand to build unibodies that collapse in certain places but not others for crash safety. NO ONE ELSE has EVER done that.

The other one's about magnetorheological shocks, which Delphi has been doing for 8 years.

I'm pretty sure you can't call it "innovation" when someone else did it first.

I hate Acura more and more as time goes on. They're really rocking the failboat hard. Just a few years ago they made plenty of cars I liked. Then they apparently got mad cow disease.

The only part of Honda's soul that still remains... is its lawnmowers.

Yeah, I lol'd when I heard the word "active suspension" and "groundbreaking" in the same commercial.

My 95 BMW has active suspension. STFU Acura and quit making your cars look like obese turds. Lay off on the chrome will ya?

Why would you go from this:

To this?

Christian, even the previous Acura you posted is an ugly turd.

And the Q45 had active suspension in 1990-96. That system hasn't been matched by any other automaker, save Mercedes, and it took them another 15 years to get it right.

The last Acura (besides the NSX) that was worth looking at:

I enjoy the undeserved sense of elitism many hackura owners have. I love reminding them it's just a Honda. Like Lexus owners and Infiniti owners. The Infiniti owners seem to see the big picture and not get full of themselves as much, though.

I detest Kias but their ads rock. C'mon, black sheep could make a tampon ad rule.

Ick.

If Ralph Nader wrote a book about that car, it'd be called "Unattractive From Any Angle".

And the Kia Soul commercial is my favorite car commercial in a LONG time.

I just test drove an previous generation TSX (2008) , looking for a replacement for my wife's Altima. Gotta admit, I liked it. The look is generic but it did everything competently and was comfortable. (Performance is not a priority for this vehicle). But I agree the new one with the chrome happy face is too fugly. Next up a Subie.

I don't take car ads very seriously. If you recall Nissan stupidly resurrected the old 4 door sports car MAxima ad campaign after dropping the manual transmission.

+1 on the Kia ads :) I also think the Soul and Forte are actually pretty good looking cars. Kia and Hyundai seem to be one of the only large automakers doing things decently.

SO if GM came up with this tech... are all the other companies licensing it from them or are they using slight variations on it?
And yes...the commercial pissed me off as much as it did you. I yelled at my TV: "Oh COME ON, Cadillac had that nearly a decade ago!"

The tech came from GM-Delphi. That part of Delphi was recently sold to a Chinese company. Its basically the same thing between all makes. The differences are in mounting and fitment. The fluid that does the work is the same. The technology is the same.

What's great is that the Magneride dampers last a good 200k+, and when they finally wear out, they're a lot cheaper to replace than the CVRSS system used in the Seville before 2002.

The TL is a great car. And compared to all the other cars in that price range it hard not to go with the tl. My mom just got a new tl for a 3 year lease at $440 a month. Fully loaded with every option except the 18" wheels. A bmw or mercedes with as many options would be $650-700 a month for something similar(options and power).

I like the looks of the last generation TL. Unfortunately it's 30K+... Even used they're still in the 20k range
