I'm about to R&R my left rear actuator on my '94 Q45a and am wondering about the procedure for bleeding out the system once I get this done. I tried emailing Mr. Bowers but didn't receive anything and I figured someone here has done this before.

Also, if there are any tricks of the trade to follow for doing this, it would be nice to have them in mind before I try this.

How much of that "extra-special" active suspension fluid will I need? Enough leaked out of the leaky actuator to drop the car to its knees (i.e. all the way down to the stops). Also, where to get the best price on this special "nougat"?

Thanks

sorry I did not get any email from you. I presume you found a good used actuator. It will take at least one liter of the Nissan active suspension fluid to replace what is in the old unit, plus more to refill the reservoir. I suggest 4 liters may be enough. DO NOT substitute anything else. Infinitiusa.com is the best place to get it.

Thanks for the reply, Keith. Somthing must have happened to the email.

Is there any special procedure for filling/bleeding the system?

Also, is infinitiusa.com the site for Infiniti? Did you mean someone else or am I missing something?

Thanks again

Oopsie. I think he meant infinitipartsusa.com, one of our sponsors. Give Joe a call there and they'll hook you up.

I have the stuff coming from Joe. To refill the system do I just pour the active fluid into the pump until it doesn't take anymore?

I seem to remember some tips/tricks for doing this but I can't find them in a search.

add until the level is at least midway on the dip stick in the reservoir.
