Actual Tank Size 2011 HEV

Can some other owners let me know what amount of fuel they see during fill-ups and confirm the ACTUAL tank size.

Reason I ask is because I got a 2011 in April and in the last couple of months of driving even taking it all the way down to where the trip computer no longer tells me how many more miles I can drive before I am stuck on the side of the road, I'm finding that I can't squeeze more than 17 gallons into the tank, yet all the literature states 20 gallons. That said, I have to assume the system is broken and I'm leaving 3 gallons in the tank on each fill-up which is another 90-110 miles.

Anyone experiencing anything like this and also (more critical) does anyone know the actual tank capacity?

I've always assumed that every gas tank leaves two or three gallons in it when it says it's empty so that you don't run out. All of my cars take about three less gallons than stated in the manuals.
