The first day I got mine (Jun 29) I drove to my home from purchase place and it was 47 miles. Drove the next day almost a hundred miles, just to try the ride, steering, etc. Was impatient to it to near empty so filled it. The average was 38 plus some tenths, forgot. I varied the speed as the Shop Man suggested. Drove from 50 to 70, always moving slowly from one speed to another. And also, there was a 28mph tailwind coming home. That must have helped.

The second fill-up was a little disappointing. But after considering how I drove, it's OK. First I wanted to see how it would get up and go from stop. Not very fast but as the vehicle gets rolling it improves. It will run a hundred, after a while. Don't consider it to be fast. The mileage on the second tank was 27.7. On the next tank I'm going to try to drive as an old fart should drive and see what it will do. Will post it.

I got 27mpg on my first tank and I'm still on the second now and it's looking even better. Mine is allot of in town driving with a few long stretches when I get close to the house, I'm still pleased so far.

cvt on mine, but i am an agresive driver, but when i go slo, the milage is great, the problem i have is that starting the car after periods of time where i don't use the car kinda uses up a bit of gas, plus it has been hot and using air condition uses up gas too,

i wonder how the car would last on the long distance drive ......, lets say los angeles to san antonio

so far I've put 100miles on the car, and it's at 3/4 tank.

and I've been on the gas pretty much all the time. to me, that is amazing, I have a heavy foot, and coming from a 240sx that gets 19mpg city to 30mpg driving the same way is awesome!!

Hi. I just completed an extended trip of 840 miles over the weekend. During one highway driving stint while using the Crusie Control set at 70 mph I managed to get 33.2 mpg. Based upon the fact that if I go faster my mpg is consistently less, I would guess that I could easily achieve 34 mpg if I was driving 65 mph.

I do mostly city driving right now so I see about 22-25 MPG, depending on how much of a rush I'm in .

When I take it on the highway, which I haven't quite done a full tank on yet, but I would guess I get about 30 MPG at 80 MPH.

Just got this off consumerreports.org. It appears that they have completed the fuel portion of the test of the Versa (and the Fit) for their upcoming December issue of CR which will highlight the Versa, Fit, Yaris, and Rio (unless I'm missing something). The CR person (Gabriel Shenhar) wrote their test Versa with CVT got 28 MPG overall.

I think that's a little closer to reality. I get about ~28 mixed city driving (about 30 mins highway/day for commuting) and ~30 mpg highway.

For those that have not read my sticky above, and the earlier thread about MPG, I am conducting a fuel tracking survey with as many NICO members' vehicles as possible. I am starting to see results trickle in, but am waiting for most survey forms to be completed and sent back in. I will be able to tell you what, as a group, we are getting overall, by transmission, by weight class, by ac use, by traffic type, by altitude, and by driving habits.

So if you haven't joined, please, once again, email me and join up! The study will be more accurate the more people sign up. All it requires is that you print out a Excel spreadsheet I send you and write down your mileages and fuel fill-ups in the manner explained on the sheet.

Lol. There's a user catnap who's only getting 25-26 mpg. If we swapped their car and XterraVersa's car, I think both parties will notice a huge difference

Your low mpg is from the extra 500lbs & driving the 7-8% grades. Bet if you just drove it around town without your passengers, you would be close to mine.

hmmm...We'll have to come up with a dummy clutch pedal and shifter. It doesn't have to work, we just need to string you along enough to be long gone with the car

That is what I was thinking too.
