Which has better handling?

Are there any Q45's with both?

Define "handling."

None have both, most have neither.

Overall response and control.

Low Speed Turns below 45 (in city driving)

Highway speed lane changes. (I would think the Q45t's HICAS on this one.)

And the Slalmon.

I love my Q45a's ACTSUS system.

Just wondering how it compaired the Q45t. I always thought that the Q45t was the top of the line (Infiniti's Flagship)

The "t" does stand for "Touring" right?

No. actually the a was the flagship model, turning a car that started in the low $50k in 94, to a car in the high $50k or $60k with the active suspension. I've never driven the a model, but I would think in the city, taking a turn, the active should do a lot at getting rid of roll. I don't think it actually gives you more g's on the skidpad. The HICAS is suppose to be good for the high speed lane changes but, and anyone correct me if I'm wrong, does not give you a tighter turning circle. That said, the active q should be better in the city, and better yet, in the twisties.

Louie is on point. There will be less roll and superior chassis behavior in maneuvres that do not result in loss of tire adhesion. The upper limits should be a little more for the t since it is about 200 lbs. lighter, given the same everything else.

Q45tech runs Eibach sport springs (minimal improvement in side g loadings) with OEM Black shocks in front with the a (and t) smaller front bar (and remounted upper arm anchors to correct for camber change) with the a model rear bar and Tokico Blues in back on 15" OEM wheels (for now). Tires seem to be a constant experiment, with the soon to be discontinued Michelin 235/60-15 XGTH size winning over the Michelin 215/65-15 XGTV or 225/60-15 XGTV.

That sounds like a good reason enough to go to New Mexico. If i'm ever there, I'll look you up.

Brian, whats the status with Michelin discontinuing the 235-60-15?is this confirmed?how soon?I just may buy another set and store for 12 months if I have to-really not interested in getting 17-18" wheels and tires to meet the demands of the q just yet, dont want the harsh ride on our crappy roads, nor the expense of tire replacments.

Lou youll have to go through indiana to get to NM.. We'll take the BAD Q.. Speaking of which, are we still on?

I have HICAS, and the only thing I can say it does is help control oversteer.. Where normally the rear would break loose, the HICAS sort of helps control that so that it still breaks loose sometimes, but not more controlled... IE it makes it a little more fun...

Thats the only time I notice it actually doing anything...

Qship96, I have no particular knowledge other than what is in Q45tech's original post and Grant's reply that they are in all warehouses as of this afternoon.

Will try them on the TX Q45, so it will be interesting to see if they are any better than the XGTV 215/65-15. I hear you about the 17" wheels and up. I am delaying the move as long as possible due to costs and performance issues.

Yeah, but never sold here.

The best design feature of the Soarer and LS400 is when the PS pump blows, the fluid will take out the alternator also.

I've driven a couple of a's, a few t's, and a number of plaon ones.

The complaint about the "a" was that on grooved roads (such as in Kansas City where I drove this) the suspension is unable to keep up with the road. For most highway condintions the "a" was great.

Where I live now with mountain roads I like the t better. Both t's I have owned have on the occasional corner given me the feeling as if it changes mode. I like it best when pulling onto a highway from a tight short ramp. I've never driven an "a" on these more interesting roads.
