My Q45 has a switch on the centre console that has 'N' and 'H', an 'ACTSUS' light and a 'Height' light on the dash, what does the switch actually do and which model did this come in? Yes I searched but only one result. Thanks!

It controls the active suspension, which only came on Q45a models.

A search for "active suspension" should yield much better results.

Better yet, just search for all posts by texasoil. He's pretty much the worldwide expert on the Q's ACTSUS.

The switch is to raise or lower the ride height of the pneumatic/hydraulic shocks.

Thanks, the reason I'm asking what model is my car is apparently an '89 model (Dunno how they tell, there's no date on the vin plates or anything, just HG5000889 on the end of the VIN)... did the Japan sold cars come with Active Suspension in '89 as opposed to '91 in USA? (My Q45 is a privately imported RHD car)I'm guessing it's possibly a slightly later model Q, maybe a '91, as I haven't seen anything on the car that says Q45a, just Q45.I'll take some photos and get more descriptive eventually so I can get more help.Nevertheless thanks.-Staggers.

I don't think the JDM Nissan Infiniti Q45 ever had the "t" or "a" badges and they were just options. As far as it being an 89 or a 91 I can't tell you for sure since I don't know if the same minor changes were implemented in the JDM Q45 and the USDM Q45.

This link will show you the changes of a USDM Q45 year by year. http://q45.org/techinfo.html
