Hello all,

Does anyone know of a shop in Phoenix that can diagnos my active supention on a 94 Q? I just git the car and it rides horrible so I would like to have someone look at it.

Also, where is the ECU located and how do I tell if it is aftermaarket?

Thanks

Hi C!

Well, if your Active Q "rides horrible", it likely needs new accumulators. Search here on NICO for that topic, they're not cheap but we have a supplier who can take good care of you.

The ECU is in the passenger footwell behind the kick panel, and I'd bet a paycheck it's stock. The only Q ECU upgrades are JWT and our own "in-house" ones, and the others are JDM units (super-rare).

Welcome to NICO.

If you have a 1996 Q45, neither is it active nor does it have an upgraded OBD II ECU.

Yeah, I'm confused. Post says 94, profile says 96.

It is a 1994. Not sure how 96 got in my profile. It has a NOS system on it that's why I wanted to see if it has an upgraded ECU.

Thanks

If it is the Stillen modified one off eBay, it has the Stillen ECU, or the NOS won't work.

I looked on the ecu and it says that it is for .052 nos. Does the ECU have to be upgraded to go to a bigger shot?

Thanks

The Stillen/Wolf NO2 ecu essentially runs the injectors wide open [85% DUTY CYCLE VS 55% WITH NO NO2.

A larger than 75HP shot would require larger injectors or 8 extra fuel nozzles for more fuel.

Not to say you might not tweek it up to 85-90 HP jet. You could increase the stock 43.4 psi fuel pressure with a special regulator to gain a little

60psi/43.4= 1.38 or square root = 17% more x 75= 88-90 HP.

That should be enough to fry transmission fast, maybe the first time..........careful.

Is the Actsus light on?

If not there is a good chance all you need to do is have the 9 Accumulators recharged.

http://www.q45asuspension.com/

Then you would need to flush replace the active fluidWhich you can get from Joe

If you boots are cracked you should replace those as well otherwise you actuators will blow thier seals start to leak and you will have to replace them.

Was this one the burgundy on ebay, didnt the seller say the active was fine?

The ACTSUS light is not on. Yes, it is the vehicle off of ebay and they did tell me that the suspention was fine but there is obviously something wrong. I did check the fluid though and it is not registering on the dipstick so I will go to Nissan dealer tomorrow and get some fluid. It would be great if that solved the problem, if not hopefully I can replace the accumulaters and resolve the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a good start, at that number of miles they will need to be replaced to restore the ride (unless done once already). They are a wear item like shocks, luckily Texasoil can do it for a reasonable price

Fluid did not do the trick. I will have to start with the accumulaters and go from thier.

Thanks

The shipper is claiming that there is reset button on the car that the shipping company turns off to tie the car down. Does anyone know of this type of switch?

Thanks

The only switch I know of is the N/H switch in the console, and that only switches modes.
