So, I was reading the FSM.

I read about the Active Suspension self-diagnosis, and gave it a whirl.

I knew my suspension was buggered - now I'd know why.

The reading was as follows. - ON _ OFF

-___-_-___-

According to the manual, that means ERROR 11, which is Car Speedometer Sensor System faulty.

My in dash speedo is spot on, can anyone explain to me, the role of the above sensor on the suspension, and if it would cause the suspension to behave abnormally.

Thanks.

Yes, and I pulled the diagnoses from page 66...

I made at least 2 references to having used the manual in my original post?

So you had one long flash followed by a short flash then, right? And that sequence was repeated over and over with no other different codes?

I had a speed sensor issue with my car before and according to the service records, it was already replaced by the previous owner. That didn't solve the problem I was experiencing. What was happening was my speedo would cut out intermittently along with the power steering. Sometimes both together would stop, sometimes either or by themselves. They would kick in and kick out at any time. I replaced my instrument cluster and never had the problem again. That is my experience with the speed sensor.

if your speedo is working correctly it could be the connection to the active comptuer. there is a connection from your speedo to the active suspension computer.

from memory it appears that is where speed is obtained. not from the ecu or speed sensor.
