OK.When I start the car (sus switch on "H"), the car raises, and the "height" light comes on... (as its meant to).

But within 15 seconds, the front starts to sink back down, (consult shows faults with the front height sensors)... and then the ACTSUS light comes on...

are the front height sensors shot... or are my accumulators dying?Or is it another problem altogether...

PS. Sometimes the suspension will sit higher with a bit of driving (might behave itself for 10 to 15 mins) but still ends up setting off the ACTSUS light.

I think the consult is telling me the front height sensor fault because they are being triggered by the car dropping, not because they dont work anymore.

I have plenty of fluid in the reservoir, and havent had a fault from the rear height sensors... only the front. My mechanic did a full diagnostic on the Active suspension system, and used the consult to bleed and prime the system..... but i still had the ACTSUS light come on on the way home.

Any ideas????

so, everything behaves when you have it in 'n'?

my guess is weak accumulators, but that's only a guess. mine rides high, but won't raise at all when i switch to 'h'.

be sure all your flush valves are closed.

Check your height and G sensors to make sure they are working. Sounds like you need a new front sensor. Check FA-90(depending on year) in the FSM to Diagnose the G sensors. FA-73 for the fore and Aft G sensor test. FA-78 is the height sensor circuit check as well.

If you don't have the FSM then I'll type out the trouble diagnoses for you.

Thanks guys.

I forgot to mention that the actsus light comes on straight away if I have the height switch set on "N"..... but takes a few seconds to activate if I have it on "H".

As I have faults regarding the front left and right height sensors, i will trouble shoot these ones first, if that doesn't work, then I will try the vertical G sensor...

Thanks for pointing out which pages to check in the FSM.

Might have more parts to order...

Got a new fault thrown out...

No 41. Pump or pressure switch system fault...

because it does lift when i start the car, I am going to assume the pump is ok, and the problem I am having is the pressure switch system....

maybe the height sensors are ok.

My plan of attack is to check the pump and pressure switches..... maybe replace some components.... then see if that cures all the problems. If not, I will then replace the height sensors too

replacing parts can get pricey real quick. I strongly suggest you first check the connector on the active system board (in the trunk) and then the connectors on the front height sensors.

Also, be sure and check battery voltage, pull and replug the fuses for the active system, and ensure full electrical power is gettin gto the active system computer. Most of these 'multiple error code' problems are voltage too low or poor connector caused.

The sensors just do not fail very often--in fact failures are very rare.
