Just found out the active suspension error code on my 94' Q45a:

Code: 45

Now I have a couple problems. I don't have a manual to find out what this code means, would one of you be so kind as to tell me? A big THANKS in advance to anyone kind enough! :icesangel

My second problem is finding a well reccommended mechanic in the Las Vegas area to do the work on the car. My top notch "back yard mechanic" for 6 years just finished telling me he'd never touch the car again . . . You can't even replace the relays I asked . . . "I hate that car." was his reply :pface

Congradulations you own one of the TOP 5 most complex cars ever created.

Realize that the labor differences between expert specialty shops and dealers are only $20/hour [at best] and Parts price are the same.

Code 45 is 'oil level too low' the special active fluid.........where is the leak and what damage have you done? Have all the accumulators been recharged or does the active not really work any longer?

All the accumulators have been recharged via texasoil (who we haven't been able to contact to send back the old struts). I wasn't there when my mechanic had the system apart... but I'm going to have to ask him if he bothered to add any fluid once he replaced the struts. That'd be a good chuckle if he didn't...

Dennis, say the master pump needs replacement and the fluid is low. Will it also report the pump needing to be replaced?

Thanks in advance.

If he didn't fill after replacing the strut accumulators, and the required bleeding, you must be very low. You can reuse hydraulic fluid that you pump out during bleeding, but only if it's bright green and doesn't have any smell.

After you refill, switch to diagnosis mode and pump the brakes to erase the cdes, then start over. 41 is the pump code, and remember that the accumulator switch will also trigger it.

fxjackso, thank you for your help as well.

I don't suppose anyone would know of someone who has done re-programming of the Active Suspension controller? Not that I'm looking forward to getting the car airborne... but there's lots of things such as that which I wouldn't mind having "tuned" besides what the piggy-backed ASE680 can do.
