Due to the deluge of Q45a owners looking to convert their active suspensions to conventional systems and the numerous emails I'm receiving regarding where to get the conversion done, I'm personally offering to do the conversion for a total of $1,375. That includes all the parts and the hours of labor. You just bring your vehicle to the shop and pick it up after three days. Most of it has to do with me needing to pay off school tuition, and the rest is out of good-will (if you've seen this sytem, you'd understand). Dealer charges up the wazoo for the conversion. Email me at [email protected] for more details.

For those of you who want to restore your Q45 active to better than standard new ride, drop me a line. We will get and keep you riding smooth for less than any conversion.

From you of course! As you can see, labor is ultra-cheap. I empathize with those with non-working Active Suspension systems.

By the way, thank you Texasoil for hijacking my thread! lol It's cool though. Hey if anyone's looking to get their Active Suspension back in good shape, Texasoil is the man.

I personally, like the sportier feel of the Tokicos but to each his own...

Sopdadope, does that entail removing the system completely so there would be no dead weight left over from the conversion?

A total retrofit would require new ecu, new power steering pump, pullies and belts plus another 5 - 6 hours of work over and above the simple pump loopback and 4 shock/spring change out.......to get every pound of dead weight and meet non active performance.

For most a $1300 change is enough vs a total $2,800 R&R.

How do you extinguish the active warning light [cut the wire to bulb]?

The question we always have is are the junk yard springs/ seats we obtain in good enough condition vs new springs and seats.Obviously the owner only wishes to pay the minimum.

I've driven apprx. 980 miles since my Active Suspension conversion, no problems with the P/S pump (I looped it). The Active Suspension warning light went out after I disconnected the ActSus module in the trunk.

The total weight removed from the vehicle was a great deal, both rear ActSus shock absorbers with accumulators still intact, weighed apprx. 28 lbs. each, fronts 26 lbs. each. The multi-valve in the back weighed apprx. 34 lbs., the one located in the front, passenger side fender, 22 lbs., the driver-side one, 19 lbs. The ActSus pump itself (located on the front cross-beam) weighed 6 lbs., the reservoir filled with 4 quarts of hydraulic fluid weighed a good 15 lbs. or so and the cooler, 4 lbs. empty. This doesn't include the 30+ feet of hydraulic lines. I'd say removing all things related to the active suspension removed roughly 250 lbs. from my car.

After the conversion, there was a definite seat of the pants improvement.

The ActSus is great, but I prefer a sportier suspension. It maybe stiffer but even in below freezing temps, my car takes bumps much smoother than my cousins I30t.

No, QShip, you're the man! If anyone deserves any thanking, it's QShip. I promise you, you'll never meet a customer as considerate and easy-going as he was. Even when I ended up delaying the job two weeks. Heck, he even insisted on footing the bill for breakfast!! How cool is that?

Ultra-friendly and one very cool customer, I wish the conversion brings out the best in your Q!:D

I just drove Q-SHIPS car, man what a difference, the car rides nice and handles very very well, he has TOKICO BLUES all the way around, nice job.

hehe, QShip's hotel was conveniently located next to a rotary. After the car was delivered to him, we took it out for short skidpad-type run. There was zero body-roll, on 15" snow tires. Hopefully, a 22mm bar and some fat 17" rims are in store for this car.

At first, there were harshness concerns, but I had already installed Tokico Blue's around on Aztek72's Q (22mm custom rear bar, full energy suspension bushings all-around) and the ride wasn't too bad.

I personally would go with Tokico's all around instead of Tokico's in the rear, OEM's in the front.
