For most a $1300 change is enough vs a total $2,800 R&R.
How do you extinguish the active warning light [cut the wire to bulb]?
The question we always have is are the junk yard springs/ seats we obtain in good enough condition vs new springs and seats.Obviously the owner only wishes to pay the minimum.
I've driven apprx. 980 miles since my Active Suspension conversion, no problems with the P/S pump (I looped it). The Active Suspension warning light went out after I disconnected the ActSus module in the trunk.
The total weight removed from the vehicle was a great deal, both rear ActSus shock absorbers with accumulators still intact, weighed apprx. 28 lbs. each, fronts 26 lbs. each. The multi-valve in the back weighed apprx. 34 lbs., the one located in the front, passenger side fender, 22 lbs., the driver-side one, 19 lbs. The ActSus pump itself (located on the front cross-beam) weighed 6 lbs., the reservoir filled with 4 quarts of hydraulic fluid weighed a good 15 lbs. or so and the cooler, 4 lbs. empty. This doesn't include the 30+ feet of hydraulic lines. I'd say removing all things related to the active suspension removed roughly 250 lbs. from my car.
After the conversion, there was a definite seat of the pants improvement.
The ActSus is great, but I prefer a sportier suspension. It maybe stiffer but even in below freezing temps, my car takes bumps much smoother than my cousins I30t.
