Hello,

I did some Search on the tire pressure topic (i.e. zerothread?id=144694) and found several posts recommending a pressures in the 33 to 38 psi. Does this apply to the Active too? The placard on the Q says 29 psi and this is what the guys at Costco put on my new Exaltos (225/60R15).

Or should I ignore this and go with the 80% of the Max Sidewall pressure?

Tks!

Calculate what the load capacity is at the lower tire pressure vs. the higher one. Don't forget to consider dymaic overloadings during crnering, braking and heavy loading.

szhosain had a great chart one time in an xls spreadsheet.

I've got the same question and don't think I'm really smart enough to read all those charts. What does everyone run in their tires. I've got the same Exaltos from Costco running N2 at 29.

Gas composition doesn't matter for load carrrying capacity.

I got kicked out of Costco for explaining why the G50 required at 35 psi minimum because of dynamic loading.

There is a previous thread all about this. Atmosphere and tire design still pretty much the same in the intervening 2 or 3 years.

29 psi is too low. Tire load index is measured at 36psi. If you have 95 or 96 load index tires, then you should be running at 36 psi. If you have 99 or 100 load index tires, you can drop down to 33 psi, but don't go below that. If your tire load index is less than 95, then you should plan to change tires soon and run at 40 psi till you do so!

If you run 33 psi, then please plan to check often (at least once a week or once every other week) with an accurate tire pressure gauge, cold measurement (in the garage, no sun and no driving at all) and then correct the pressure ... all tires drop about 1 to 2 psi every other week.

The 225/60R Exaltos are rated at 96V.
