Post

Hi guys and gals, if there are any.

I have two Q’s to look at tomorrow. I am looking for additional input.

1) 1994 pearle white active with 160K on the clock. He says it looks and runs wonderfully. He also says the suspension works great. I imagine he has never experienced a properly functioning active, so we shall see. Additionally, his price is WAY to high. But he will only be a few miles away tomorrow, so it is worth the drive to check it out.

2) 1992 burgundy active (converted) with 73K on the clock. This is also a second owner. He has no idea whether the guides have been done.

If the tubing for the active was properly closed up and the pump properly by passed, is it even worth considering re-activating the active? I have no idea what actuators from a donor car might cost. Additionally, I believe the active cars were “softer” sprung than the non-active. So, if the convertion was done properly, I would also need to retrofit active springs. As I type this I think the advice will be, just give this one a pass.

OK. Let ‘er rip.

Thanks

Bruce

Also look at Craigslist Modesto. There's a 94a, black on black (JAY), for $3500. Might be worth a phone call. Good luck in your search.

Thanks Mike.

I don't think about Craig's list.

Glad you reminded me.

I look at cars.com, autotrader.com, & ebay.

When I search craigslist.org I seem only to be able to Los Angeles area listings. How do I broaden the search?

Any other sites I should be checking?

Thanks again,

Bruce

Find it by coming in through the California link in the states listing. You're seeing the L.A. area only be entering through the top 25 cities list. Good luck.

That worked fine. I couldn't seem to "surf" there. I put "states" in place of cities in the htlm and got there.

Then I chose each city individually. Found a car and parts car in N. Cal. that another member might be interested in. Emailed him the data. It was a 94 with, as I recall about 160k miles and a 91 parts car for $1250.

Here's another in North San Diego County you may want to call on. I didn't know if you would see it since it's advertised as a 94 touring but in the post makes mention of active suspension. Good luck in your search.

Mike,

Thanks. I would not have seen this. I actually put my looking on hold while I secured the other half of my cars.

I wanted two. A small sports car and an acitve Q. I picked up my 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP on Dec. 24th. With one half out of the way I can begin to concentrate on the Q only.

I have emailed the advertizer. Again, thanks for the assistance.

Bruce

Bruce- I sent that guy Jerry a message within hours of the ad coming out. Not saying i have dibs on the car, but it did strike me as interesting, since he described it as both an active and a touring. He has not returned my message. If you get a reply, please let me know. If it's a touring i might be interested, whereas if an active, you might be.

Jay,

OK

I just responded to your email.

Thanks

Bruce

By the way. I am no longer in a rush. Now that I have a fun car, I will take my time and find the "right" fun Q.
