I have searched and cannot find pictures of the active cooler. I am working on a design that would use the stock location and this fan for transmission fluid

I think that may be a little overkill.

Well the nice thing is that the fan will come on at 175 if needed otherwise it will not. I will mount a gauge and post before and after temps. Considering I live in an area that see 100* plus days and I often get stuck in traffic I think it will be good, overkill on cooling is always cool with me.

I have 15 fans in my computer.

Maybe you could remotely mount your computer and plumb it for ATF?

Not sure the alternator could handle the power draw. Does anyone have pictures? I cant believe no one has done this it would look stock and not dump any heat into condenser or radiator.

Yeah, that's where I mount my passive B&M ATF coolers.

If the original G50 alternator could run it (don't think there was a different part number for the active), you should be fine on power requirements.

Long time ago I ran across this hot rod website where these guys claimed to gain about .2 sec. in the quarter mile by reducing the ATF from 176 ° F to 140 ° F.

Oh really good to hear. Does the active have a different fender liner. Do you need the active mounting bracket.

Maybe Redmanfx can comment on that as he has converted. The fender liner should be the same.

Well as soon as I actually find a Q I will do this and post a How-to. This will be my first mod.

AS to TC efficiency of course cooler ATF is thicker and increases efficiency however there are low limits and 140F just might be it.

Unfortunately on car transmission the TC is integrated whereas on trucks it has a separate pump and isolated ATF and a cooler from the transmission itself.

So to cool of temps can be harmful as well?

Thats the impression I am under.

So what you are are saying is this setup may overcool the fluid? if that is case I may have to install it in line with the stock cooler. I plan on monitoring results with gauge. My first attempt will be stock filter straight to aftermarket cooler. If that cools to much I will incorporate the stock cooler into the loop and may add one of thesehttp://www.bmracing.com/index....d=286.

Anyone have a nice semi stock/ hidden / clean looking place to mount a gauge?
