has anyone here used the ACT extreme 6 puck clutch (NS1-XTR6)?

its supposed to hold up to 576 ft-lb, which i wont be making for at least 4 months (and even then probably not that much). i need to know if its a "race only" clutch, and if it has any streetability what so ever. im always looking for more power and i dont see the point in wasting money on a clutch to hold a little over stock, then turn around before the clutch is even broken in and upgrade to a serious clutch. this car is gonna be street and track, and only driven on the weekends.

if anyone has any feedback on this clutch kit, or a suggestion for a lesser clutch then let me know, thanks.

btw, future plans include upgrading to a gt35 twinscroll turbo and fairly large cams, and a greddy im (aside from bolt ons which will already be installed).

If your shooting for 576rwtq your going to need a turbo a lot bigger then a 35R, also I'm not sure what other people think of the extreme pressure plate but I've heard its garbage. If your shooting for 570+ rwtq i'de look into a twin disk.

With that setup you mentioned I would say you will be making around 500-550ish hp (Please correct me if I am wrong) depending on your tuning, boost, and the rest of your setup. You will also be pushing the limits of the stock bottom end. 570+ rwtq is a LOT for an s chassis. Also with a clutch you don't want to be very close to its max holding capacity. A clutches torque holding capacity is a max not a goal.

well thats what i was saying, i need a clutch thats for sure gonna hold up. i dont plan to make 576 wtq and like you said you dont want to be pushing the limit of the clutch so i just wanted to be sure by getting a stronger clutch than needed. the only clutches i could even find for an sr20 were ACT and SPEC, and a few crappy (low number) exedy's. i damn sure dont need a twin disc or even a hypersingle. i pretty much want an affordable (less than $700 for clutch and flywheel) streetable yet strong clutch. any suggestions (and where to find said clutch kit)?

the ACT will work for your aplication..but remember its a 6puck..its gonna be a pretty harsh engagement...the pressure plate works just fine BTW

if it is a sprung hub, then it wont be too harsh, BUT if its a solid hub with NO sprung center, then its gonna be hella harsh & bite down seriously & not be very streetable, unless u like that sort of thing
