Act Clutch Stiff Pedeal>>help!

Got a Aftermarket ACT Clutch for awhile, it still takes alot of pressure to press the clutch , are there any springs or DIY mod for the clutch pedal to make it easlier to press? for those who installed the ACT clutch? did u do anything to make it softer?

I drive a Altima, the stock clutch is so stiff to press already and now obviously it's way too stiff , u think I can just use a bigger Master clutch cylinder and a stiffer springs for the clutch pedals? are most of the nissan/infiniti use the same master clutch cylinder? if u know anythinga bout it , would you give me the part number and stuff. THANK YOU ALOT

would a bigger Master Cltuch cylinder or Slave cylinder help any? what about the NISMO Master Clutch cylinder

for a 240, there's a kit that comes with a extended clutch fork (that thing that sticks out of the transmission and the slave cylinder pushes on it) and bushings to have the slave cylinder mounted further away from the transmission. This added lenght will I guess allow you to use less force. Sorry if this didn't help.

Man wish I could tell ya. My buddy's SR20DET came with it and I just swipped it. He didn't know what it was so I told him I'll just keep it. Anyway, let me go look at the parts again and see if I can find some clue as to who makes it and where it's from.

An extended clutch fork would give it a lot more torque when pressed so it would feel softer. Mine is too soft so i wanna shorten it :)

Nismo makes a slave cylinder that lowers pedal effort. Not cheap, but would be fairly easy to install.

My only question is - are you SURE your stock Altima had a stiff clutch? I've driven an Altima, and I think IIRC, it would have been easy enough to press the pedal down with my hand(way too soft). I consider "the right stiffness" to be around where you can't even budge the pedal with your hand, and it gives you nice feedback on the engagement point.

Cannot locate any sticker or anything to determine where it's from. The total lenght of the fork is 9 inches... not sure on how long a stock one is, if it's the same length, then you can just slap some metal bushings of some sort, maybe a nut, to have your slave cylinder mounted further away from the transmission. Anyone know the lenght of a stock fork?

well it's a ACT clutch, orginally the stock Altima Clutch never been soft before , at least mine like that, anyhow,thanx for the info, I would probably just custom make a fork extended and remount the slave cylinder . THANK SO MUCH

If you move the slave cylinder outboard, you are also going to increase the stroke requirement of it, and therefor increase your pedal stroke distance. IF you move it out too much, the first time you press the clutch, the slave cylinder rod will pop out and puke fluid everywhere or your pedal will hit the floor and the clutch will not be disengaged yet.You should look into getting a larger clutch master cylinder, maybe from another nissan. I am running an ACT street clutch in my SR and the pedal is fine, I am using a clutch master from a Datsun 510 (which is what the engine is installed in).Also, look into that nismo slave that was mentioned earlier.just my 2cents.
