Does anyone have an ACT clutch with the fidanza lightend flywheel on their SR? Particularly the ACT NX4-HDSS street clutch with the organic street disc. How does this clutch compare to the JWT organic clutch? Basically I'm looking for a streetable setup with a clutch holding capacity of 50-70% over stock. Any other clutch flywheel combinations that you guys recommend? Thanks.

Has anyone had any experiences with these clutches and flywheels? If so, what's good and bad about them?

There's a whole analysis of the ACT clutch there.

I'ts a bit biased however, but still note worthy.

the JUN flywheel isn't SFI approved

ACT clutches are nice, drove one with the Fidenza flywheel yesterday and liked it.

Although I have heard the ACT slips above 400rwhp (at least with a JUN flywheel on a 394rwhp SR) But on the other hand with a stock flywheel my other freind was making over 430ft Lbs of torque at the wheels on a clutch only rated for 220 (act) and it held up fine....

From certain people i have talked to that i believe, like daunt, the lighten flywheel is not even really needed, and might even create more turbo lag. I had a friend put a lightened flywheel on his 300zx and hated it. Now if you are bulding an all motor car, a lightened flwwheel would be great, but why not spend the 400 on a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft from enjuku?

As far as act goes, ive never heard anyone around here have anything bad to say. My friend has on on his sr. Its pretty much stock, but the clutch grabs great. I also have a friend with a prelude, and has had his act clutch for over 2 years, and still holding up.

JUN flywheel isn't SFI approved, what more do you need to know.

The aluminimum flywheel made a hudge difference in Shawn's KA turbo. I would recomend it to sombody who's got the money. It made the motor feel like it lost some turbo lag since it reved up so much quicker.

Highly recomended.

I hate lightened flywheels, and prefer not to use them for drag use...everyone has their preferences : )

Rekindling an aging thread: I know most high hp drag cars have heavy flywheels and the rpms dont drop very much between shifts. BUT what I need is a durable clutch for everyday driving that can take a thrashing and still be streetable-IE: EASY Engagement so I dont give my girls whiplash! I will be abusing it for drift as well, too. I am trying to decide on one of two clutch/flywheel sets that are sold together, the Blitz and HKS. Anyone have any experience with one of these two who can give me advice on choosing? I asked Luke at Phase2motortrend and this is what he said:"The major difference between Blitz and HKS single plate has to do withconstruction. HKS uses chromoly flywheel that weights somewhere in therange of 16-17lbs while Blitz uses aluminum flywheel that probably weighsaround the same (never measured it), but the way the kit is constructed isdifferent. HKS utilize 3 puck metallic clutch disc with a sprung centerwhile blitz is single plate street disc that is held up by double diaphrampressure plate. As for ease of driving and clutch pedal feel, most likelybetween the two it will be harsher than stock, but not to the pt ofintolerable for street. They are quite suitable for drifting use!"Based on this which do you think I should get?Maybe I'm dumb, but I'm still unclear on which one he meant..."most likelybetween the two it will be harsher than stock, but not to the pt ofintolerable for street"...the HKS one?

OK well I have kinda a weird setup, but it works real well, it's a fidanza lightened flywheel, an ACT pressure plate, and an exedy full disc clutch. Very nice setup, I love it, very streetable, pretty easy to drive on. Chris
