I have an after market sunroof (Quality sunroofs) in my '93. Unfortunatly the glass shattered on a recent trip to Tahoe, compounding the problem the company went under and I cant find replacement glass. I cut a piece of 1/8" acrylic to replace it, but the acrylic flexes too much and whistles at highway speeds. I'm wondering if anyone has experiance with this sort of thing and would know if 1/4" would be more effective, or if I just shouldn't bother.PS it is a manual sunroof.thnxSteve

Did S13s have anything but manual sunroofs? I'd just snag a regular one from someone parting out an S13. Easy, cheap and sturdy enough.

It's aftermarket - different size...

Radian, is the glass compound curved (most are) or pretty flat? If it's flat, then I'd go to an autoglass shop and have a piece of tempered glass made for it. They can drill the holes for the bolts and everything. Then, buy a roll of limo tint and double-up on that bad boy!

AZ-It is slightly curved, so unfortunatly flat glass wouldn't work. I used a high power blow dryer to heat the acrylic and bend it.I was thinking last night about it and came up with the perfect solution. I'm going to mount a 3ft wide aluminum wing to the sunroof. The down force would keep the roof from whistling-and it would look so trick!Haha j/ki'll try 1/4" then it is time to open the wallet and spring $500 for an entire replacement roof. Booooanymore ideas are welcomed.

Perhaps a larger aftermarket sunroof?

I installed one once. Although the cutting sucks, it's not hard to do a good job...

That is the way it is looking like I'll have to go, a larger aftermarket roof.I'll have to think a bit about doing the install myself though, do you remember off hand the approximate price of a sunroof/mounts?What did you use to cut the roof? A sawzall or something? that sounds fun but sort of nerve racking.thnks for the help

coupes had autos that slid all the way back, hatches couldn't because of the hatch
