Anyone up for putting together some Ace Combat teams for competition and fun? The game website has info for a squadron tournement with a $15k prize. If anyone is interested, shoot me an email.

Wow! Really? 15K? Haha. I'd be all over that if I played Ace Combat.

I think it's gonna be released for the PS3, but at a later date.

I played through the demo for what must have been the 10th time last night, this looks to be the most epic AC game yet, and even if we can't get 8 people for a tournament we can at least play each other.

Yeah, we can always battle it out, or team up. I'm debating right now to get HL2 and AC6, or stick with the AC6 bundle package.

I would like to have the stick bundle just to say i have it but for an arcade flight game like ac I don't think the stick will offer much more than a controller will, throttle control will be easier and having the controls layed out more naturaly is nice too but probally not worth the 160$ or whatever its going for.

That's exactly what I was thinking. See, I bought the flight bundle for AC5, and I've never used it. Not one time, so I think I might just get both games.

If you have the AC5 stick and never used it much then don't bother with the 360 one since its mostly the same except for the new hideous xbox green/white color scheme, I wish there was a way to get all the flightstick bundle extras without buying the flightstick like halo 3 did.

Edit: also the orange box would be worth it if it only had Portal and TF2, having HL2 and both expansions just makes it godly.

too bad they dont sell the bundle @ Circuit City, I have 10%off...

$60 bucks out the door

or

$163.25 out the door w/ game and flight stick

...playing ACe Combat 5 on PS2, i dont think the 360 controller is any good with flying games...on the PS@ controller it feels natural. On the 360 it feels weird. Wish me luck I hope the flight stick rocks.

The 360 has the throttle/rudder reversed from the PS2 by default which caused me grief in the demo, it can be changed though and when done it felt exactly the same as the ps2 minus the analog LB and RB buttons, but most of the time I use the throttle I either want full burn or full brakes so it was a non issue.

The 360 controller feels the same to me as the ps2. I just had to get use to letters instead of shapes. Well, I tried ti pick up my preorder today, no dice. They're saying the 24th now. A little pissed since I got out of work with a half day today.

j/k I am on the same boat. I called 2 gamestops and 1 cicrcuitcity, seems like the game did not ship on time. Anyhoo, this will give me one more day to think about my purchase

anybody have the ps2 flightsticks? How did those fair?

well see, I will walk in to the store with $200, who knows which one I will buy-flip a coin

oh it's Halo 3 Tuesday!

I have the ps2 flight sticks, but only took them out to look at them. So, I guess I'm basically useless for an opinion.

Here's the deal for the tournament. It's teams of 2. EIther a civilian team or military(vets count), and you have to register on ggl.com (global gaming league). They have a challenge ladder board for practice matches right now, and the tournament will begin on Nov.5, ending at the start of december for the top 64 teams on both sides.

So if anyone is available to play, let me know, we can start online now. I registered as a civilian, but I'm a vet, so if anyone here that wants to play is military or former, I can switch over.
