This has semi- came up in another thread, and Dennis said that the gas gauge only reads to 19 gallons. Since it is a 22.5 gallon tank, it leads me to believe that when the needle is sitting at 3/4 tank, i have only USED 4.5 gallons, where a real 3/4 tank, I would have used 5.625 gallons. This makes a big difference in figuring my gas mileage.

If someone could shed some light on the situation, please do!

To figure out gas milage its best to just set your trip odometer after filling up and when filling up again, divide the miles on the trip odometer by your gallons filled up.

As for the gauge. At indicated half tank I generally have used 3rd of a tank or less.At the 1/4 mark I have a half tank. This was with my last Q am unsure about the new one yet, as there are some variances.

Like I said, there are variances between different gauges, you will have to experiment for yourself a bit, to get a good sense where u r at a given spot.
