1. I did not use that charcoal canister either. I believe it is only used for emission purposes.
1-a. Vacuum lines- bottom outlet nipple on throttle body would go to that canister, but you can just get a vacuum cap and block that off. Larger one on top goes to blow off valve. The other one on top goes to FPR, throw a T in there and run a line to your boost gauge.
2. Definitely make sure your speed sensor is plugged in and the correct speed sensor is in there. The reverse position swith is worth hooking up because it makes your reverse lights come on. (Don't have mine, and it sucks backing up at night). You should try and hook up all of them if you can, some of the plugs may not directly plug in to one another, so you can cut and solder or make your own plugs.
