I have a 94 Q45. While removing the valve covers I've come across a problem. Four of the 18 accorn nuts on the left valve cover will not come off... they just spin on the stud. Has anybody had this problem before? Right side accorns came off with no problem. How do you get those nuts off. I've turned them for a hundred revolutions and they just turn but will not come off. I've tried prying under the cover while turning the nuts and they just turn.

I think your best bet would be to use a dremel to cut a slit on the acorn nut and open it into 2 pieces and take it off.

dont be afraid of damaging the studs, as they are easily removed and replaced without special tools, (i came across similar and replaced a stud rom my old spare engine;
i used 2 10 mm spanners; if you damage any studs ping me i ll get some to ya for just cost of shipping,
