I currently drive a V6 96 Accord with no Vtec and suspension that rather Highway drive than corner. I would like to get my hands on a s14 and eventually do a sr swap. The only problem is that I have no experience with a rear wheel drive car except for Gran Tourismo. Can the 240 be a hard car to control? how bad is it in rain and snow?

Oh man, they're not hard to drive at all! My car before my 240 was a 1990 Acura Integra (a FWD car) and I preferred the handling of my 240, especially after I got it lowered on sportlines and w/ a strut bar. It handles so well, and its really easy to throw around.

There is no understeer (unless you take a sharp corner faster than ~40 on a stock suspension), and oversteer is the fun of the 240! The back end swings out, and viola! Drift baby! Even if you drift to far, the car responds instantly to any corrections, and is really responsive.

One guy on the boards has a hooked up 240 up in Alaska, and claims he beats 'Vette Z06s, Mustang GTs and all the fast cars on the track. I don't know if its true, but I don't doubt it could happen.

The weather conditions aren't so bad. As long as you don't drive really fast in hard rain, you should be all right. As for snow, you have to be very careful. 240s are light, and the rear wheel drive does not help. Moral of the story: just drive slow, and carefully in snow.

Get the 240 man. It'll be worth it over a tired Accord. And besided, 240s look so much better! :)

Nick.

Thanks zebrahead that really helped. I think my aprehensiveness comes from my buddys MR2 and my brothers Subaru. The MR2 is out of control and the Subaru is a beast to say the least. My accord sucks and is no fun I've got to get a 240 :D

We have snow 4 to 5 months a year. I HAVE to have a truck for the winters. I love the 240sx for EVERY reason... but it truely sucks in the snow. 4 of my 6 vehicles have been RWD so I know how to drive them in bad conditions. The 240 is the worst car I've ever driven in the snow. Mine has the VLSD, so start off traction is ok.. but handling is terrible. I'm not talking about a little dusting up to a couple of inches. It's ok for moderate snow. But we get dumped on A LOT!! Anything more than 2 inches.. and you have to stay home.. it's not even an option. If you live where it snows heavily, either you need to have a winter 4X4, or no social life!
