I drove one of my friends 2007 accord EXV6 coupe on sunday and no way is that car faster then mine...It FEELS faster because of the shiftless feeling CVT but I tried to get him to race me but he's a point away from some jailtime.lol I'm not sure if honda improved there coupe's powerplant in the last year tho....I'd look up the horsepower to weight ratio, then check the honda forums for real world times and compare..

Yeah the 08 Accord V6 is rated at 268hp and think they have two I4 engines, one at 190hp and the other at 140hp or something like that. Don't take my word for it, thats just what I remember, I can and probably am wrong with those numbers.

Yeah that would definantly be a dirvers race. But even if the altima loses it wins bc its not a honda.

I don't think we can take a new SI, they run in the low 15's in 1/4! (deff. an older one though...I think)

Even the 2.5 can smoke an SI off the line. Those things have a sad amount of torque.

But they have more horsepower and they rev as high as motorcycles so I would predict a spanking at higher speeds.

Both valid points and a far better way of looking at it...

well most of the time when you race a car on a red light (I do not recommend this to anyone) you rarely go past 80 mph and until then the torque and the cvt tend to take care of the problem that is the civic. And whats the point of vtec anyway last time i checked when people wanted turbo lag they got a turbo not a sad excuse for a variable valve timing system that only had two distinct and completely separate modes.
