I'm not sure how, but I deleted the My Computer Link on my desktop. How do I get it back?

Have you checked the recycling bin; if its in there just choose to restore it.

If not go to settings and turn your quick launch on, a 'my computer' may be there, if it is right click it and copy then paste it on the desktop. Hover your mouse on the desktop and right click again to paste it.

If you don't like the way it looks, right click it again and change the icon (does it have a little arrow in the corner?) search for the original icon under windows, then icons, you should see it.

if its xp he should have a check mark on the screen. That I dont know how to change the icon in that, at least without going through maybe the system32 files which i dont think he wants to do. I dunno though.

sorry, i switched computers.

if you use the XP style start menu, is simple.

undo what ever you did to get the wierd "my computer"

open start menu, and where you see "my computer", right click on it and select "show on desktop" from menu.

done.
