I've had a few instances of my smart key getting activated in my pocket by bumping against other keys, coins, etc. and I have noticed a few others complaining about the same thing.

I recently ran across this silicon skin that might help make the buttons more recessed:

I've just ordered mine, so I have yet to test it. If this doesn't work for me, I plan to insert a thin piece of plastic (cut from a milk jug) between the silicon skin and the front of the keys to stiffen them up a bit or to make the buttons smaller (via holes in the plastic).

You may also want to try one of these:

there is a PVC window covering the buttons which might help. And if that still does not work, you can flip the ActiveTech one around and have the thicker neoprene side covering the buttons.

I bought the Active Design fob cover and haven't had any issues with inadvertent button activation . Showed it to our Nissan Dealer who had never seen one and wasn’t aware that such things were available. They have since bought a box of them to give to their customers - I got a couple of Nissan labeled goodies as thanks. The Active design fob cover really works quite well, and is easy to install.

They were cheap enough to try,so I bought both the silicon and neoprene covers.

Both covers provide enough button protection to reduce accidental pressing of buttons while in purse or pocket. The neoprene cover is just a touch sleeker, but might wear out sooner than the silicone. The silicon cover does pick up little more pocket lint. but offers a shade more accidental button bump protection. It also comes with clear plastic packaging that is ideal for making an additional plastic insert for behind the cover but in front of the remote if you desire even more protection.
