So now that you have seen the damage, here is what happened: (My own damn fault).

Drove to work around 4pm. Parked beside a concrete lamp post in the parking lot. Every few spaces there is one of these posts. Came out after work at 1am... dark, pouring rain. Ran to the car. SAW THE LAMP POST as I was running to the car... which makes this so much worse. Got in, started it. Started to drive off and for some reason did not see the lamp post. I turned left a tad and bam, scraped it down the driver's side of the car.

WORST FEELING EVER.. I was like "OH MY f***".

Nothing I could do there, drove home, put it in the underground parking... sat in the car for about 5-7 minutes praying it wasn't that bad...

Got out and snapped these pics. The mirror is cracked but still functions. The door is dented to f***. Needs to be replaced. The side/quarter is pushed all in, this is going to be a job. Calling insurance tomorrow. My deductible is only $500 thank god, but still such a pain in the a**.

I think the coupe will go up for sale once it's fully fixed, detailed and inspection is done for January. Time to get a 350z or 370z or something similar I think. Altima has served me well.

Ugh. That's gotta make you sick.

We've all done it, though.

If it had been me, running to the car in the rain, I'd have probably smacked face-first into the light pole. Car fine, face dented. :)

Haha, yeah I'm just glad it's still in drivable condition to get to work etc. Ugh... I need some band-aid stickers to put on it. I have some turtle wax black box, might just smear that all over it tomorrow lol... ugh

MAJOR BUMMER! Man... lots of OGs having stuff happen here lately.

Although, I'm goofing around with the idea of selling mine. The 370 has worked out a lot better for me than I thought it would. I absolutely LOVE the combo of the Altima for a daily and the Z for a fun car. I haven't driven the Z in the rain except the night I bought it. I just have two hefty car payments now - I could get rid of the Altima for something cheaper to drive on the daily that can hold drums/hockey gear (really thinking Juke 6MT - anyone that makes fun of me for it can catch me in the Z on the weekends... lol)

I will say this - the Z opened my eyes to true performance cars. As much as I wanted my VQ Altima to be a bad@$$, there isn't any amount of money I could have put into it that would make it a Z. And there isn't anything I could do to make the Z as comfortable as the Altima. They're two totally different cars for two totally different purposes.

Good luck with your car endeavors, dude! The Z is fun - just be careful with insurance and make sure you do your homework. This sucker is much more expensive to keep up than any Altima. I'm looking at tires for both cars - the Altima is gonna run me around $600 while the Z is closer to $1500 (for good tires - you can find them cheaper but you'll hate them). Among other things like oil changes (6 quarts of Nissan Ester oil + filter is about $90), etc.

(Quick side note: Zack, check out tires-easy.com - Sometimes, they'll have some pretty smoking deals. With as many cars as we have, I always check there just in case).

Yeah I have been looking at a bunch of cars now. Going to decide how much I want to sell the coupe for. It'll be cheap. Turbo kit is staying on it along with exhaust system and nav unit etc. Not bothering to return to stock. Comes with a free GTR body kit too :P.

If I can get what I owe on it for financing i'll be happy honestly, or maybe a tad more. Problem is finding the right buyer.

Was looking at the 350z Roadster or an older WRX STi but time will tell. No more FWD.

You are the man! I will check it. I think I'll get some rubber for my Altima first. Then I can take my time on the Z. I really would like Pilot Super Sports for it, but they're $$$.

Oh yeah forgot to mention... A week ago I got rear ended. Just a tiny bump on my rear bumper. Scuffed the paint a bit. Was planning on getting the bumper replaced anyways but yeah... lol

Sucks, dude. I pulled a similar maneuver, though not nearly as bad, in my old Corolla. I was trying to maneuver in a very narrow alleyway and I clipped the corner of a brick wall. Had about six inches of a scratch at the base of my driver's-side doors.

Well it's going in start of next week to get looked at and getting fixed sometime around the middle of Jan/After Christmas. Blah, sucks driving on the hwy and people staring at you wondering "WTF DID HE DO!?".

Decided on a car: 2008/2009 BMW 135i (With M-Sport).

The more I look at it the more I fall in love. Twin turbo, Cobb Access Port support, tons of aftermarket parts. Yummy. Even picked out a color, White with Burnt Reddish Seats or the Burnt Reddish color with Black Seats.

The Altima treated me well and was very fun to mod something that had little to no aftermarket support when I initially bought it.

I'll be here now and then to check up on posts and if I get the 135i i'll be sure to post a pic or two.

Thanks :)

- Scott

BTW, some parts may be for sale including AIT GTR Body Kit, Uprev Tuner, Lambo Door Hinges, etc. I'll post in the classifieds when the time comes.

This just happened to me today. This is why people should stop driving at 60 y/o, his insurance is going to take care of it. It does really suck driving around with your car like that.

135i is nice! At times I really love em and other times I feel like it's too small and short. If I got one I wouldn't mod it though. Or I'd add very subtle mods.
