The entire front end of my car got wrecked today. I'll post pictures in a little bit. Some idiot girl decided to drive on the left side of the road on a side street. The result was my front end being destroyed at an intersection. I hope the body shop doesn't have problems with getting any parts in. Wish me luck.

Doesn't it? Well, look at it on the bright side, I'll get some mods done to it. Maybe a new front fascia, maybe a carbon fiber hood. Start hunting fellow Versalites.

It's a shame too, I was going to install my new subwoofer box and component speakers this friday. You would have gotten a big update. Oh well...

that sucks man. i dunno, but insurance might total that due to how new the car is and the cost of getting parts. i had similar damage on my previous vehicle, a 2001 Ford Focus ZTS (spun out in a rainstorm and smacked a guard rail), and it ended up being a total loss. worse comes to worse, you can get a brand new V...

If anything, the right one will be replaced, it has scuffs all over it. I'll see what goes on with that and I'll let you know.

So far I have two guys lined up for estimates, so hopefully I'll have some good news by the end of the week.

IF they are actually damaged. I don't want anyone here encouraging or condoning insurance fraud.

And looking at the pics, I doubt that will be totalled. The newness of the car will make it LESS likely to be totaled, not more. There's about the same amount of damage on the front of that V as there was on the rear of my first V... I ALSO had front damage on that car, and they fixed the whole thing.

About how much did your V total out to? I don't quite recall the exact figure, so if you could spare me from using the search function.

UPDATE:

She doesn't even have a license, she has a suspended permit. The registration on her car expired. I spoke to their insurance agent, but he said that doesn't make a difference. We'll see what he says to my agent when they ask him why they were insuring and unregistered vehicle.

Good grief!

She managed to have insurance?!? or the car had insurance through another entity (parents/friend/etc)??

The insurance company must not have known that the car's registration expired.

Hmmm... you have uninsured motorist just in case, right?

If push comes to shove, your insurance company should foot the bill and then sue her on your behalf. At least that's what they do out here.

Yes I do. Don't worry, we have every intention of making her pay up the nose for this. She's obviously disregarded the law prior to this accident and now she should pay for dragging me into one of her messes. I now have 4 estimates lined up for this friday, and hopefully I'll set up a meeting with the adjuster at one of the body shops to make sure I get the total amount of damages covered. This woman has no case against me since she doesn't belong on the road. In all reality, she is unqualified as a safe driver and I will have my insurance company sue her personally if necessary.

That sucks.

My Versa got banged up too.... but in my case it was my fault

I was doing the responsible thing and dropping my car off at home after work before going to the bar (cuz the whole DUI thing is a risk that's simply not worth it).

Well I was in the underground parking garage in my building and took the last turn too close and scraped up against a cement post.

I got some estimates but ended up going through insurance (it was going to be $2500+ and I have a perk on my insurance that they don't raise my rates after the first claim - which this is).

The crazy thing is it's now been in the shop for 3 and a half weeks!!! And the scrapes really weren't THAT bad!!!

I miss my Versa The Jeep Compass rental I have is OK..... but me want me Versa back!!!

Being behind a firewall at work...I couldn't see your photos until now.

Mine looked WAAAAAAY worse and it was a total loss. That looks repairable.

Go get 'er!!!! Make sure your V is back to the way it used to be.... can't beleive she was on the road...

You would be suprised, some of the simplest things you would think would be quick to repair, but you have to remember that GOOD BODY SHOPS will have lots of other customers, and will take their time to do the work right.

Jemdawg, too bad you don't live here in LA, I have a buddy that would take that car from that to like brand new in probably a day or two, ****er is quick, and he does a damn good job! If only I had some pics of his work. But make sure you get that dumby for still driving after all that. I am sure her license is going to be suspended for a while, or even worse . . . . revoked.

I think it was revoked already. The guy that I'm going to will get 'er dun fast, but I'm just worried on how long the parts will take to come in.

Let's hope that with this guy, "Fast" and "Right" are one and the same. The body shop I went to took 2 months, partly because parts weren't readily available, but also because they take their time in making sure everything is as close to perfect as it possibly can be. I was impressed with the work they did on my wife's Hyundai, which is why I took the V there, despite how long their repairs take.

trust, he is fast and right. He has done lots of custom one off things. He was the first to do a RR Phantom front end on a Chyrsler 300, now they made knock offs of his work which are CRAP. He gets down!

I went to the guy today, he's going to help me out a great deal and work in a few extras. He might get his hands on a pair of factory fog lights. He said it would take around twenty days to get done.

I meant that he would make me top priority instead of making me wait while he does other cars instead. To me, twenty days is damn fast considering the damages.
