I have a 98 QX4. Sometimes the accelerator feels like it's catching on something. It's only when you start to accelerate. Is there anything that needs to be lubricated or adjusted to get this to stop. It is not catching on the floor mat. Stumped.

carbon buildup in the throttle body is causing the throttle plate to stick. get in there with some carb cleaner and a brush or shop towel.

Had the same problem, possibly the reason I found this forum. Drove me crazy for over a year as it was quite intermittent as well. Exactly what alex said. Unbelievable easy fix. I really thought it was a mechanical problem with accelerator pedal. Clean throttle body and you will be good to go.

like i said, use carb cleaner and a rag or shop towel. an old tooth brush will work well also. it's not that hard.

what do you need pictures of? all you do is remove the intake hose and clean the throttle body. ever brush your teeth before? it's like that except the throttle body is your mouth and you're using carb cleaner instead of toothpaste.

Carb cleaner is relatively nasty stuff. Wear good rubber gloves. Wash the gloves with soap and water when you are done and they will live to server another day.

You could just use seafoam

Seafoam? Great for carbs, but carb cleaner should be O2 safe and then do oil change.
