Alright so I have a dilemma.. here's the situation as it went down today. I was cruising along 94 West here in Minnesota heading North towards St. Cloud area, going about 80.. pulled onto my exit towards Rogers, and stopped at the gas station to get a drink. After idling my car for about 5 minutes, not turning the engine off or anything, I pull out into the lane of traffic and notice that my TT Z is accelerating roughly and the performance at all speeds was just shaky! Now I have a friend who's an auto mechanic who's been telling me that I need to replace a fuel injector. Is this the problem? Or could it be retarded timing or possibly something wrong with my spark plug coils? Any help or ideas would be great. I think what bothers me the most is the car was running fine until I let the car stop and idle for those 5 minutes.

:wtf2:

step 1, check the ecu for codes
step 2 verify the engine is runnign on all 6 cylinders (pull the plug on the cop's 1 at a time, if yu find 1 where the idle does not drop this is a dead cylinder)
step 4 determine why that cylinder doesn't work (first ohm the injector should be 14ohms or there abouts next lay that cop and plug on the plenum and rotate the cas by hand and see if it sparks)

Thnx.. I checked it out and 2 cylinders are dead, I'm going to have to get new fuel injectors and replace fuel hoses and a line or two i think? I'm wondering if deatschwerks fuel injectors are good? I'm also thinking about doing a fuel system flush? What do you guys think?

so you have determined that #2 is dead and have ohmed the injector ind it was wide open or some crazy measurement nto consistant with the others?

I believe they only sell deatschwerks as full sets, and some of those sets are rebuilts,I had them in my Z32, I got 3 duds before they sent me a full set fo new injectors

I assume you have the old style injectors... side feed... which are going out on everyone's car.
If you only replace the bad ones you'll be changing out the rest a little later on. Best to upgrade to newer style
or even use the new kit from Win Factory kit fuel rail and bosch injectors...
