acceleration problems?????

can anyone tell me what this isi have a s13 with a ka24e and whenever i need to accelerate from a stoplight or cruising speed i will have to fully press the gas pedal to the floor and it will sputter it feels like im pressing the gas in and out,in and out,in and out, for a few seconds and then the car will accelerate pretty quick and spit a bunch of smoke out the muffler i have checked the gas lines and the gas pump and filter so im pretty sure gas feed isnt the problem

being an older car a tune up would be good.If the basic maintenance has been done and it still hesitates could be something else.

Mine was doing that so i put in new grounding wires and it went away. Just used the stock grounding points but put in new/better cables.
