Installed the New (Nissan Replaced under 12 mos parts Warranty) MAF sensor, and decided, I'm gonna pay the $77 and get the ECM flashed and updated... with not much expectations of it doing anything..
well I WAS WRONG! Car definitely feels smoother in the acceleration and much less effort to get to speed or pass someone, and has a little more growl to it that I haven't heard in over a year! To top it off, I have my knock sensor bypassed with the 470k Ohm resistor, and the Nissan tech said, everything sync'd up fine, and no other issues showing up.. Good to Go!
So I hope that is some Validation of this SIM working if other guys were on the fence about doing it..
My only Question, is Ive read guys saying that the 550k Ohm is the one needed to be used... But others saying the 470k will work just fine..
Is there a noticeable performance gain or loss by using one or the other??

Again, i used the 470k Ohm as Radio shack didn't have any 550k in stock at all..
I love this site and all the good advice I gain from reading it!
so Far and for the time being, I am happy with the 2000 Max SE again... :dblthumb:

Anyone knows if this resistor trick also works on Maxima 1999 with stock ECU?

Thanks mates!

As happy as I am with the restored power of the car.. It still just doesn't seem to have that Full on Growl that I know every other VQ engine Ive either owned or driven has had,, What else to check??
I'd at least be satisfied for now driving it as is, but it still does seem to be missing a few ponies.. I'm thinking of trying a higher flow air filter (paper of course), possibly checking the fuel filter in the tank, and pulling out my 1 yr old spark plugs and replacing, just in case my previous MAf problems may have fouled them out some..
Any other advice?
