so i have a z32 that ive had for a while now and ive always noticed an acceleration lagg on the first start of the day. for example, at a complete stop, i accelerate, it takes a while to get to 2k rpm and its my instinct to press the gas harder, so as i press harder it still slow as hell, untill it hits 2.5k rpm, then it accelerates like crazy. its the same when its on 2nd 3rd, 4th, ect gear. but i have found a solution to it. i just turn off the car then i start up again. and it accelerates fine after. im guessing its only when the engine is cold or something like that. but even so, i still have to turn off the car after its warmed up, or else the problem is still there.

i have a 1990 na 2+0 with 106k miles.

any ideas on whats wrong with it?

I say this a lot, so here goes. First, pull codes and fix anything that pops up. Next, clean every connector on the motor before you start doing massive troubleshooting. After that, I would test the TPS, EGR, MAF.

Your my twin. I have a 94 n/a 2+0 with 111k (just turned 111,111 over the weekend and thought i would get sucked in a worm hole on I95).
Since it has got colder this problem got worse. But since I have owned this Z in the mornings it starts great, but if I dont let it warm up a bit when I hit the gas it about dies like the gas cut off. After a second or two still bogged, the fuel would catch and vroom. But since it got cold this started getting worse, and on the coldest of days she wouldnt even start unti late in the day. I had the problem diagnosed as the cold tmp/crank sensor. 20$. Fixed it up for the most part, but still getting a little bog, but I have lots of routine maintenace to do (filters, plugs, terminal connections, etc...) so Im not going to worry about it until I get all of that done.
Good luck-
