So im at a light in the middle lane of a 3 lane street. I missed the opportunity to merge onto the right lane in order to fork right. I then motion to the driver on my right that I would like to cut in front of him in order to fork right. The driver gives me a nod and a smile.

I then punch the gas as to not inconvienience the driver to my right.
The engine started to rev extremely high; around 6500 RPM but the car didn't really move in proportion to the RPM display or the engine roar. Instead the car went from 0-20 and stayed at 20 despite the cars efforts. I pulled over and tried again but this time steadily pressed the gas and it shifted/accelerated properly with no issues..

Note: car has 77k miles, transnission seems fine. Anyone else experience this issue?

Did you just change the oil or the transfer case also?

Probably just the fluid its cheap and you only need like 2 bottles of it i didnt feel any difference after change but i think you have to change it every 30k if it smells bad then its time

My car would hesitate sometimes, RPM go way up but the car doesn't accelerate. After i added plenum spacer 5/16 it was gone and never happened again. Its the best bolt on and its only about $200 new i got it used for about 150.

im new to Infiniti...I previously owned a 2006 530. I noticed that the shifting from first gear to second gear is a little harsh. a slight jump at times depending on the acceleration. can anyone back this observation?

I got that bump when going slow, when i accelerate fast i hardly notice shifting. I did transmission fluid change and its still there. Going to check engine and transmission mounts next, i heard when the mounts are broken u feel when shifting 1 to 2nd.

I knew I wasn't crazy. I'm also pretty sure that the transmission is fine, maybe it is a different drive and I am NOT use to it. dumb question what exactly does a plenum spacer do?

If you google there are a lot of threads about this spacers, dyno tests and reviews. Basically its the best mod for the money. Throttle response is much better and acceleration is smooth. Also that delay with rpm jumping/car not moving is gone.

I have the same small bump from 1st to 2nd in my M45. I changed my transmission fluid due to it, but it's still there. The plus, is that my gas mileage went up dramatically! I'm at 51K miles now.
