Recently had my 1985 300zx turbo painted and it sat with battery off.
Upon starting it up noticed the AC won't come on and all inside fuses are fine.
What would be the next steps to look at?
A separate, dedicated vacuum pump was added to this AC, under the hood, to make sure unit blows cold and "stays" on AC.
thanks

Not much to go on here, when you switch the a/c on does the compressor engage? does the fan blow? is it just blowing hot air? does the selector work, as in when you select floor it goes to floor and when you select dash vents it comes out the dash vents?

Some of these cars came with vacuum pumps, did you have one added or are you referring to the stock pump? is the pump coming on?

I had the pump added on. Right now there is nothing happening. When you push the AC on, nothing happens. Seems like no power to the AC unit.

Digital or analog climate control? This whole adding a vac pump is bugging me. The heat and air require only 2 vac sources, the first activates the heater valve in the heater lines on the firewall, the other goes through the firewall is serves to "power" the dashpots that move the selector doors and blend door. There is no vac line dedicated to the a/c. Many people have the hot air problem which is a stuck or cracked bellow on a dashpot adding a pump would not fix the problem. On miata the blend door gaskets deteriorate and allow for hot air to leak through, you can reset the cable in the stay to add some tension to close tighter.

this is excellent info.
this is digital.
the Added vacuum did solve the hot air problem and I think my folks did all the vacuum lines and even changed out one of those large dashpots. I actually think they "neutered" the heater side of things. I really think it is the relay in the box in the engine compartment.
I really appreciate your help!
