Ohhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhh, GOT TO SHARE IT!!!!

So, I've had my AC 3.5SE now for one year, and GOD I LOVE THIS CAR....so, I went to the Infinity dealer...test drove a new G37...and I gotta tell ya, I don't know if it was the same price if I would trade it...some nice things about it sure, but not at a price (comparably equipped) for close to $45,000 out the door! And what a crappy *** stiffer than jack ride!!

Then, this week I went and test drove a 2009 Accord coupe 6 MT, figured I was really gonna love it...it only made me love my AC more!! MUCH MORE!! I wouldnt trade it straight across!

Now my plan is I just might get a new car....trade in my 2008 AC for a 2009!! Anyone interested in buying a great 2008 white AC 3.5SE 6MT, fully loaded except NAVI let me know...I am seriouly thinking about just getting a new one!

God, I LOVE THIS CAR!!

Arnt the only significant upgrades on the 2009 model those 18 inch wheels on the 3.5 premium package and automatic locking doors? I wouldnt say the $4000 hit(probably even more) you would take because of depreciation for just driving a 2008 A/C around for a little over a year is worth it.

Wow, that sounds like an absolutely large waste of money. Rmuth is right - the only real changes are the wheels and the door locks (there are a few, but nothing really worth noting...) You are really going to be blowing cash if you do that...

And actually the G37 has an amazing ride...welcome to sports cars

I like the shifter like the Z, short and quick, a flick of the wrist, I am dying for us to get a short shifter kit, the A/C isn't terrible but its still a sloppy shift. But yeah, 45K...that's ridiculous...G37 fully loaded isn't worth that...unless your in Canada must be 80K up there

OP... if you wanna throw money away, please send it this way. I'll give you my paypal account and you can make the deposit, nice and easy.

There is NO reason for you trade in a year old car (unless it has serious problems, which then you have your warranty for so it still doesn't make sense). Especially if you're trading it in for a car that is almost IDENTICAL to the one you already own. All you're doing is throwing money down the drain. As other people have posted before, go to kbb.com and see how much the A/C has depriciated and you'd be insane to trade it in. It's lost like $10k in value already.

Please for the love of god, save yer money... we're in a recession afterall... nows the time to be frugal!

The G37 does have an amazing ride compared to the AC...I think you're wrong there.

It's tight and on rails...very good. The AC isn't intended to be as stiff. Nicemix of handling and comfort.

But I agree the G37 just isn't worth it for the price IMO. That's why I bought the AC. The handling was just about all the G37 had over the ACIMO and for 10k more? I don't think so.

Yeah, who cares about the higher power, sleeker body, RWD, and Japanese manufacturing. Those are all worthless!

David, nice to see you drop in. If you have time, come stop by the meet tomorrow.. should be a lot larger than the last one we had in San Diego

Actually David has been around sports cars for a while, he was on the forums way back before most of you bought your A/C's and has been in touch with custom suspension companies for his ride...

David, did you ever go through with that suspension upgrade? That's the only way I can see the A/C handling better than the G37. With my strut tower brace, and lowering springs, my A/C now hugs pretty nicely when cornering, but I can't imagine it being tighter than the G37

Comparably speaking, the 370Z is a MUCH better by than the slower, sleeker, and loads more expensive G37 coupe... I guess they jacked the price up to compete with the BMW 335i market... but for what it offers, it still falls short of what I would pay for that type of performance.... It should max out at 40K USD, but hey, I'm not in charge of marketing!

don't trade it for a new model and be out cash. get a turbo for what you would lose on the deal instead.

higher power is true BUT it also weighs like a billion pounds and needs that extra power to get it to move...... i raced a G37 before and it was only a tiny bit quicker.... sleeker body? eh, they look almost the same lol RWD and made in Japan, i got nothing to counter those i don't care for FWD too much lol but i still think the G37 is over priced compared to the altima coupe

The G37 was actually way to stiff for my taste, rode like a rock...to that extent the AC is actually smoother (not tighter).

Far as the money, for one, selling mine for 22,000 and paying 28,000 (dealer quote today) out the door (6,000 diff) is not a big deal to me...it's all relative. If it's a big deal to you, then you shouldnt do it. And I've been the turbo route, and don't want to get addicted to that again...and I know I would start and never stop...needing this...then needing that...

My biggest reason for doing it (trade in on 09) is I thought Nissan redesigned the MT transmission for smoother shifting (I saw that in a post on this forum a while back)...if that has not been done, the deals off, cause that would be one of my main reasons for doing it...I plan on keeping this car a few years, but the shifting, well, sucks...even though I have gotten used to it, I would sure like something a lot smoother. Not to mention, the auto door locks are nice...but could probably add that aftermarket (can that be done doc?)

ANyway, Robert, question for you...the G37 wheels, I love em...19 x 8.5 on the front and 19x9 on the rear (staggered), with a 45 offset (I believe)....would it be better to just run the 19 x 8.5s all around on the AC? That was what I was primarily going to look at at the infinity dealer, was the rims, I just love em....initially thought maybe I'd just buy the whole car, but then test drove it and came to my senses.

And as far as suspension, I just dropped the front with the prokit springs and still have the trunk weighted with the stock rear springs. It looks identical to a drop front and rear, but it gives the suspension a smoother and firmer ride with less bounce...which I happen to like better.

Doc...send me your number again, my phone dumped my numbers...I wanted to give you a call.

Yeah, the G37 wheels remind me of the Lexus IS-F wheels.. both are pretty sexy

IS-F

G37

Regarding running them staggered vs the same all around, I don't think it matters much. Some folks have run stagtgered on here, it isn't gonna affect the car one way or another. However, the factory offset (+45) won't provide the aggressive stance that some like. IMO, +35 offset, 8.5 wheels look great on our cars. But if you're stuck on getting the G37 wheels, I'd say go 19x9 all the way around!

And yes, the auto door locks can be added with an aftermarket module from KP technologies, or if you add an aftermarket alarm, this will come standard!

the g37 is the better handeling and performance car. the altima coupe is the more spacious car and practical car.

the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

the leather is better in the g37. if I had to choose I might take a 6MT black g37. lol blame grand tourismo prologue for turning me into the infiniti dark side.

i thought that smoother, rev matching 6mt was going to be introduced in the 370z... i didn't think the altima was getting a "new" one...but i could be wrong

also, the auto door locks can be added with a module....forgot the name of that too...but it can be added...

Heres what I got from my dealer. Looks like the transmission has been upgraded (or is it just a change in the shifter itself?)...maybe I should go check out the 370 =)...and I'll say it again, after a test drive of the G37, I personally do not like at all the stiffness of the ride, and for my preference, I much prefer the ride of the AC, so for me personally, my daily driver is the AC...in this case, beauty is in the sensations of the feeler...and by the way!...see how (some of) you guys are? someone has a difference of opinion and you gotta diss on em? Wheres the love? Its Christmas for God sakes!! Whatdi do, stumble onto the grinch forum?

One thing about the G tho...the interior lighting at night is unbelievable! lots of purple highlite...really really cool....nice short shifter, but it felt overly stiff...but man, do I love those rims!

Do you know what suspension option the G37 that you tested had? If it had the sport suspension - then it will have a stiffer ride than a G without the sport suspension.

How is the Altima Coupe more spacious? Where do the interior dimensions differ from the G37?

I know that the 03-07 G35 coupe has almost exactly the same exterior dimensions as the Altima Coupe - and I believe the interior dimensions are close - although the G may have a little more leg room in the front due to it being rear wheel drive.

The G37 if anything is probably larger than the outgoing G35 - so........

go into one and you'll see , the back seat of the g37 coupe feels clasutrophobic and the AC feels cavernous compared to it lol.

It was probably the sport (but am not sure). Another thing too is they probably had the tires inflated to farly high pressure...I drive with my tires at 30 psi simply becasue I like the softer feel to the rubber/road, even though it gives me shorter tread wear (and yes, I know is not "as safe," but then again, safe driving is about as fun as safe sex =)
