Hey all this is my first post on this forum. Or any other forum for that matter. I just purchased my first 300zx na its a 1992. Im slowly replacing parts and was told the ac wasnt working but it just needed to be charged. My buddy works at a dealer and tried to hook it up but told me i needed some kind of conversion kit to charge the ac. iv been looking for one but cant seem to find one. Any ideas. If im totally off base please feel free to educate me.

THANKS!!!

Welcome to Nico! You are looking for an R-12 to 134-a conversion. It's the type of freon. Supposed to be better for the ozone, but like every other 'Green' product for cars, it's more expensive and less efficient.

^ nailed it.
Welcome! Lookup EZ chill r134a retrofit kit. You should replace your o rings and receiver drier as well.

Does that kit come with the right oil for r134a? Or conversion oil? since r12 used a different oil than r134a I remember reading somewhere

most any auto parts store carry these conversion kits, they may not have one in stock that will fit the size inlets you have, but they would be able to order them. Most of these kits do not come with anything but the screw adapters, but the shop that does the ac charge for you will have the oil needed. I don't know if it does take a different oil that the r12, but it may. Been a few years since I did ac work, and only did a couple recharges or drains so it could be repaired in the body shop.
