I picked up a second hand compressor as my car did not come with one. I have ordered new O-ring, have the compressor oil and refrigerant (new). But I don't know much about AC. My friend is a mechanic and he is going to put it under vacuum/dry for a few hours and charge the system but I wanted to do the compressor oil before hand. Does anyone know how much oil the RB25 compressors take? and can it be drained and filled while in the car? I dont know how good the oil in there is, how much leaked in shipping etc

The compressors are oiled by adding oil to the refrigerant. You'll have to look in an FSM to determine the amount that the 240SX system takes, but it is typically a small bottle and you might use half of it. It isn't like a gear box or anything where you'd drain the oil separate from the refrigerant. It is all the same. So you oil it, vacuum for an hour or two, then charge on the low pressure side. I'd add some of the fluorescent dye too so you can pinpoint leaks in the system.
