AC pump frozen for no apparent reason... '82 Stanza

I don't care about the AC pump anymore, I just unhooked it... but that leads me to another question:

Does anybody know of a reason why I shouldn't leave my power steering pump and hoses in the car even though the pump is not hooked up?

The car drives fine w/o it so I am just going to leave the belt off unless someone has a good reason why I shouldn't...

dont unhook the hoses, youll lose the oil in the PS system....
