Mechanic says I need to replace AC compressor. New one costs 800.00, remanufactured costs 450.00. Is it worth the extra cost to buy new, or will reman work just as well? I plan to keep the car for as long as possible, so I don't want the compressor to crap out after a couple years.

Thanks

I would compare the warranty on both of them and then do a cost to warranty comparison and seewaht the better deal will be.

Define as long as possible? My 1990 Q is 17 years old purchased new and has 314,000 miles however it is on compressor #3.

When a compressor fails it sends debris thru flex lines and condenser.........these need to be flushed or replaced simultaneously along with a new receiver dryer assembly..................failure to do this will often mean another failure at less than 12 months.

Nissan remans often last 3-6 years vs Azone 1-2 years.
