Hello all,

I am having an issue with my 2000 Xterra... The AC will only work if I turn the fan on the highest setting.... The fan does not work on the first three settings.. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

There is a resistor on the blower housing near the blower motor, this resistor controls fan speed. If it blows out you will only have high speed. What usually blows these out is high current draw from the motor. Either because something is in the squirrel cage or the motor bushings have excessive resistance. When you replace the resistor pull the motor out and check for debris in the cage. If you dont see anything replace the motor and the resistor both.
