Hi all,

I have a 2010 Rogue that's causing me all kinds of headaches. The compressor died and I have replaced it, flushed the system, did everything by the book. Now I'm stuck replacing the expansion valve. I managed to removed the old one but the new one is not lining up with the two pipes.

Has anyone done this job before and can provided some guidance?

All help will be much greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

can't help you, but my 2010 Rogue's compressor just died on 7/13. $480 repair.

What expansion valve did you get? Was it OEM?

Yes, it was. However, the issue was present before changing the expansion valve.

What was the total cost of repairs with labour?

The AC in my 2009 Rogue SL stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I've put about $3200 into it in the past 18 months, and was thinking about trading it in for something new. It's only eight years old and has 150,000 km on it so I'd like to think it's good for another couple of years. I'm getting the AC looked at next week and I'm hoping it won't cost any more than $1000 to repair. I'm considering not repairing it and just driving it without AC over the winter, then just getting something new next spring or summer.

I looked at the Qashqai (Canada), but was not impressed with the vehicles lack of passing power at higher speeds, lack of safety features without going to the top trim and options, and dated audio and infotainment system. I see the 2018' Qashqais have come out in the Europe, and they have a sportier look and better engine options, including a Bose audio system . I hope the 2018 North American version gets a better engine.
